Patience Nekesa – Founder, Website Camp
Empowering Nonprofits Through Technology, One Website at a Time.
Patience Nekesa is a passionate technologist and educator dedicated to using technology as a force for good. A graduate of Makerere University, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. She is currently finalizing her Master’s Degree in Information Systems, also from Makerere University Kampala.
With over a decade of hands-on experience in Uganda’s computing industry, Patience brings a wealth of knowledge in IT support, information systems development, and web and mobile applications. Her expertise spans across technologies and platforms including PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, MySQL, CSS, Bootstrap, WordPress, Joomla, and other CMS and LMS tools.
Patience founded Website Camp with a clear mission: to empower grassroots nonprofit organizations with the digital tools they need to thrive. Her vision stems from a deep belief in equity, access, and the power of shared knowledge. Having had the privilege to master diverse digital skills, she is committed to sharing them especially with young women and girls who are often discouraged from entering the tech space.
Through her volunteer work with various community initiatives, she has mentored and trained girls in ICT, advocating for gender equality in technology. She believes that ending discrimination in tech is not only a moral responsibility but also a driver of innovation and inclusive progress in the digital age.
Driven, collaborative, and constantly evolving, Patience continues to inspire others to use their skills for social impact. With Website Camp, she leads by example coding for charity, building platforms for visibility, and giving nonprofits the digital voice they deserve.
